Rep Power: 23 | I would say that beds with facials work better... Facial bulbs have a higher wattage, and give off more UVA, for more bronzing... It seems to me that more and more new beds have facials in them now... I also moved it into tanning units/lamps... It will get more attention in this forum... melty _________________ Come down to BoCa and visit!!! Its Nice and WARM!!!!![ This Message was edited by: Meltdbutta on 2003-03-31 15:38 ] |

Rep Power: 23 | In todays market you have to have facials.10 years ago nobody had them and at that gave us startups a jump on the competion.I have found that in the last couple of years alot of people don't use them.Mostly older people. But I would still with facials. The newer facials in todays market are really fantastic. |

Rep Power: 0 | High Pressure Facial lamps are designed to put a very large amount of UVA into the face based on the premise that the face, being constantly exposed to the sun, has active melanin ready to be browned. They will put more UVA into the face than a non Facial system. As UVB tends to thicken the skin this is avoided with facial lamps. |

Rep Power: 0 | It depends on the market. After nearly twenty years of high pressure technology, I don't think that full low pressure beds are extinct. IMHO, I think neither type is inherently superior. One has some of what the other lacks. Hi-presure came out soon after low pressure so there is nothing fundamentally new about them. I know a multi-store operator in my area that does very well without them. In other areas, virtually every salon is decked out with facial beds. It is an easy to up-sell because it's physically distinctive. Case your competition. You can't go wrong with having some of both types beds. |

Rep Power: 28 | If for no other reason, I have clients that prefer the upgrade beds with facials so they can turn the off! This way they do not get much on the face vs. the plain jane beds where they can't turn if off the face. |

Rep Power: 22 | That's true. You can get too much facial. I have never seen a bed or heard or been in a bed with a facial turn on/off switch. I have gotten too much before. Trust me. If you get too much you will regret it. |

Rep Power: 0 | All of my basic beds have high pressure facial units (3 400 watt facial bulbs). When you turn the bed on, facial bulbs and the regular bulbs come on. There is a seperate switch to turn off the facials at any time during the session. JTF |
