Rep Power: 0 | I'm so glad someone posted this topic. We bought 3 "Blue Nightmares" last June to replace 3 older units. I got them from Exotic Tan in Muskegan Michigan. And let me tell you and I'm not exagerating in the least but these beds are a disaster!!!!! They make all kinds of freaky noises (caused by faulty fans). I have repeatedly called for service only to be jerked around by exotic tan. And when they finally did come out the techs made the problems worse. They broke lamps in the bed, they cracked an acrylic, they lost screws from the units and claimed they were never there to begin with....I could go on and on and on but it just gets me more upset. The beds are not properly ventilated internally. There is nothing you can do except add external fans behind the beds and cross your fingers. I've had all the internal fans in each unit replaced and that solved a lot of the vibrations and other noises. It also helped with the facials from not going off and on from overheating. To whoever gets these beds, I wish you the best of luck.[ This Message was edited by: guybea on 2003-02-06 11:02 ] |

Rep Power: 22 | You folks with Blue Dreams are onto the deficiency of this machine. It will do a good job tanning, IF you can keep it running or shut it off when it's supposed to. I re-lamped mine last night and it was the quickest bed to re-lamp that I've got. Also amazing to me, was the lack of dust that had been drawn into the lamp area. It was a quick process to vacuum out the reflectors, put the new lamps in, and crank it back up. Total time spent was about 1 1/2 hours and that included cleaning the acrylics and taking several sets of meter readings. It's too bad the quality didn't go into building this bed. It appears the engineering design is a winner. If it were made of better components, it would probably be the only machine I would want. Unfortunately, the parts used to make this bed aren't of the highest reliability. |

Rep Power: 0 | Well guys, this is the first thread on any of the boards where I have read of people having serious problems with these beds (other than fans). I have 2 Blue Dreams and 3 of the 32 lamps 2 Meter beds, easy to install, they tan very strong, they are very inexpensive, and the only problem I have ever had was a couple fans, which was a bad design, but really, it only took about 30 minutes to change out. Other than that, both blue dreams have over 750 hours on them, and they are great machines. They have paid for themselves 10x's over. I bought from Exotic Tanning, and they have been great with service. I thought I would let you know, not all experiences with these beds have been bad. |

Rep Power: 0 | The beds DO tan well, are easy to relamp, and look great. But they are full of little problems that cause HUGE headaches. Just yesterday one of our blue dreams' facial began shutting off and on during sessions. The fans are working and the facial bulbs were changed out and the problem persists. It took me months to get Exotic tanning to fix all the problems when i first got the beds and I hesitate to call them since we've had nothing but a hate-hate relationship. Does anyone have any suggestions? Tan2NV - what state are you in? I find it hard to believe you had such a positive experience with Exotic Tan? I'm a very friendly, easy-going guy and they treated me like SHI* the moment they got me money. Their lousy treatment can't be a fluke. Either you value customers or you don't. I even bought the set-up tech and repair techs lunch when they came out and they still trashed my place. I'm still waiting for a replacement acrylic for the one they broke. Great service my A**! Don't buy these beds unless you're into masachism. And don't be fooled by there warranty. Not 5 years. although they will tell you 5 years. service not included. Parts only and those you'll wait a long time to get when needed. |

Rep Power: 23 | bsmart, 1 1/2 hours to relamp one bed? A good bed can usually be cleaned relamped & new starters in about 1/2 hour per bed. We just did a relamp on 16 1999 Sunsource beds, new starters & cleaned the bed inside & out. Averaged 1/2 hour per bed. _________________ [ This Message was edited by: JOHN @ URI on 2003-02-17 11:36 ] |
