Rep Power: 24 | I never had to use boosters before so I am asking this question.I plan on boosting my voltage 32volts and the bed will be running at 240volts and 60 amps which equals 14.4KVA now there is name plate KVA and working KVA what type of booster do I need and what is the equation and where can I get them reasonable priced as I need several. |

Rep Power: 0 | I would reccomend talking to your booster supplier. I was also told when we installed ours that you should not boost upto 240 because the voltage in the line fluctuates. In our salon for example the voltage will jump between 207 to 213 volts depending on how much power city utilities is providing. Keep this in mind when you order. I would get a volt meter and take many readings over the course of a few days at different times of the day. And then boost of the highest reading that you record. You would not want to boost over 240 and damage your beds or your equipment. Thats how the booster supplier and my electrician explained it to me. Hope this information helps. Good luck! |

Rep Power: 22 | You-can and Corvette, you are on the right track here. If you are being supplied 208 voltage, you want to boost by 36 volts, UNLESS you are running equipment that prevents this. There should be a disclaimer in the owners manual materials, that says what the limit should be. Some equipment has NO problem operating at 240-245 but be sure the manufacturer is OK with it. Now about measuring your incoming voltage....it's the right thing to do, but you need to do it in 2 stages. First measure it at each bed with NO equipment running. Then turn ALL of your beds on and measure the voltage at each bed while they are ALL running. The voltage will likely 'droop' somewhat when everythings on. This will give you a better idea of what voltage boost you need to make, in order to have all equipment running at optimum voltage when your salon is running 100% capacity. |
