Rep Power: 0 | I'm holding my breath waiting for a reply to this question- Has anyone used philips VHR lamps and are they any good? I'm trying to decide if I should change the brand of lamps I'm using in my bed or stick with the lamp I've been using. |

Rep Power: 0 | Philips has allways made a great lamp if you like to be tan and not red and can follow recommended schedules. [ This Message was edited by: Brian Oshman on 2002-12-14 00:51 ] |

Rep Power: 22 | Yes I believe VHR is a Cosmedico trademark, but Phillips has an equivalent lamp. It's supposed to run about 20% cooler than the typical reflector lamp. I'm seriously considering using them in the future. |

Rep Power: 0 | Ok- VHR may be a Cosmedica trademark. I have a high output 160 watt bed with reflector lamps. Does that further clarify what I am looking for? Is the Philips really supposed to run that much cooler than say the signature lightsource lamps? |

Rep Power: 23 | The philips lamp does run cooler, but not 20%.Their new swift 160 watt-R XPT lamp has a new design filament and higher output. It does have compatability to the VHR and signature series. It also seems to work better the hotter the bed is. |

Rep Power: 22 | Now that's a VERY interesting phenomenon. Typically lamps LOSE output when in a hotter environment. There must be some inverse thermolecular properties in these new Philips lamps. It would be worth a call to learn more about this new XPT lamp. Surely the higher heat operating conditions, will shorten the lamps usable life. |
