I have 2 Sunvision 28LEs. I had the voltage in the outlet in the room checked and it showed 240 in both rooms. The tech at ETS told me not higher than 230 and not lower than 220. Just want another opinion before I buy them.

240 from the wall is perfect for quality beds. ETS is NOT a quality (actually they are quality... just LOW quality, in fact if it wasn't for low low quality, ETS would be NO quality)bed. ETS equipment is obviously built to household standards and is not expected to be used more than 2-3 times a day nor is it expected to last for any real length of time. I'd like to be able to say "hey, you get what you pay for but in this case... ETS is no great deal as to pricing. Why didn't you try the Tanses line where your American dollar would buy so much more????

Also, remember that 240 volts is overpowering the system which will give significantly higher output on your lamps but shorten the life as well.

Mori is correct. Every other bed manufacturer recommends 230-240 volts to the bed. ETS recommends no more than 220v.

Ok, so if I buck them down to 220 volts will that reduce the output of the lamps? I am seriously thinking of selling these beds and getting replacements but for now I have to make due. But I want the best performance I can get from them now.

Are you serious. NOW you find performance important??? IF you cared about performance in the first place you would never have bought ETS.

NO, 220V will not hamper the performance of the lamp. As a matter of fact, 220 Volts is what the lamps were made to run with. Only problem is that while other salons are "boosting" the output of their lamps (at the cost of longevity) you will be running at what they are based at... no more, no less.

Use a 7.0 meter to determine how long a session should be. At 220V, the session time will be more to reach 4.0 MED's than the same unit run at 235V. I personally like the longer session, I personally believe that the longer sessions (to reach 4.0 MEDs) provide "better" tanning sessions for both colour and healthy benefits of UV light. And far better in terms of relaxation.

If your salon is a "get'emin get'emout" kinda salon... 1st, forget about ETS, 2nd, BOOST the power (but not with those beds!!!)

IF it sounds like I'm suggesting you get rid of those beds...I AM. BUT IF you must live with them, longer sessions are good too.

OK, To start with I appreciate your advice, the beds I have are already 20 min. beds so I can't increase the session length. I have several older model ETS beds (I bought used to get started) they have been work horses going on my 3rd year and my clients love them. That is why last year when I decided to buy two new beds I went with ETS. I will admit I am very disappointed in the new beds, I bought them based on the performance of the old ones. If I didn't care about performance I wouldn't be here asking questions. Now let me give you some advice! Everyone that gets on these forums know how you all feel about ETS beds, and there is nothing wrong with you voiceing your opinion. But you might want to rethink what you say to someone with a question concerning ETS beds, don't make them feel like an idiot, just answer their question, if you can and help them make the best of a bad situation. That's what your are here for. Right?

"Your customers love the beds"... do you know how many times I have heard that before! Do your customers know the DIFFERENCE? Maybe the tanners that do know the difference just don't bother coming into your salon because they know the difference.

As to my known dislike for ETS equipment... I most emphatically state that I most emphatically dislike the equipment (except perhaps for residential use which I believe it is really intended for).

Oh yeah,I forgot everybody else is too stupid to know what what they like. What did ETS do to you to make you so bitter? Better yet, what kind of beds do you sell? Tansies eh? Macdav, try to overlook the negatives and as you stated, you got the answer to your question. Some on the board are just a bit, 'rough around the edges' and want to grind their ax. Sorry for that. Don't disregard a good source of information (TanTalk) based on what you read in this experience with it. You can learn a lot if you stay with us.
