I go in this bed almost every wednesday...

I am in it for 12 minutes....
Today, I just read the stickers on it, and it says that skin type 4 can have the 12 minutes on their 11th-15th session.....

weekly maintmence is 10 minutes.....

Is it alright for me to be in it for the 12 minutes??? I am about a high type 3 skin type.

Also, I was inspecting the bed, and the canopy has the 4-1000 watt facials, and 140 watt vhr's....

the base has 160 watt vho's....

why would they put the lower powered bulbs in the base???

Is it because the ones in the canopy are vhr's???

thanks

melty

From What I'm told the beds have reflectors and therefore it doesn't matter what bulbs are on the botton because the light is mixed by reflecting off of the reflectors and all around the bed. CocoBungo

The bulbs in the canopy have reflectors...

The bulbs in the base are VHO....very high output....Im guessing the these do not have reflectors...

I have a Orbit and I put 160 watt bulbs in the top and bottom. And to maintain my tan I only tan about 1 time a week and I do keep a good tan.

If you have an Orbit you can not put 160W lamps in the top. They won't fit.(160w lamps are 6' & 140w lamps are 5')

The Onyx is 160W Reflector top & bottom.

The answer is that the ORBIT uses 140W Reflector lamps on the top & the bottom uses 160W VHO lamps powered by a 140W ballast.
This gives an over all even tan.
