Rep Power: 23 | I have an old Sperti Del Sol tanning lamp, just for the face. The bulb is a tube, with the name UV-93. The back says it was manufactured August 1999. It also states 120 volt 50/60 HZ. 800 WATTS... IS this lamp alright??? How much UVA/UVB is it throwing out? is it like the bulbs in the facials in the other new tanning beds? I always wanted to know about this, but have forgoten to ask the question.... thanks Melty _________________ Trust me its paradise~ This is where the hungry come to feed~ For mine is a generation that circles the globe in search of something we havent tried before~ So never refuse an invitation~ Never resist the unfamiliar~[ This Message was edited by: Meltdbutta on 2002-09-08 23:17 ] |

Rep Power: 23 | It puts out low UVA, high UVB and MED/hr. Usually has short egg timer, and recommended distance of about 15". Call Sperti if you don't have instruction sheet. (800) 544-3757. Be sure to use eyewear, Regular HP facials are the opposite: High UVA, low UVB and MED/hr. Both the lamps and filter glass create a different SPD than Sperti. |

Rep Power: 23 | It would only burn if you overexpose or get too close. Of course UVB is the erythemal wavelengths, so exceeding time could cause reddening quicker than with bed facials. As Ask Don might say, there would be less room for error between time to tan vs time to burn. You need to get IST vs Te recommended Type 2 skin schedules from Sperti to know what you're doing. Don't guess. |
