I moved this topic to the equipment section.

We have these in one of our locations. It was not my choice, they were there when we bought the salon. They tan well. But, as far as durability, I am not counting on them lasting the long haul. I already have plans to replace them within the next year.

They have a tendency for some of the screws to come loose and cause the bed to tip. They require much more maintenance than the Sonnenbraune's that I have at another location.

In my opinion the newer ETS equipment cannot perform to expectations with the new time limits they have set on these.

There is no way that a max 12 minute session on the StarPower 52-4 will outperform MOST of the other 12 minute units on the market. I have tanned in this unit and found the speed system lamps to be inferior.

The unit is smaller (width) than most of the VHR's on the market and the big fan at the foot of the unit TRIES to SUCK the hot air out of the unit (vs. a body cooling fan).

I will say this: ETS equipment IS getting better, but for me it's not there yet!
If you can in any way afford to spend a little more money on your equipment, I would, without hesitation, do so. But on a TIGHT budget, these units will get you through until you can afford to upgrade the salon.

I hope this opinion has helped.

I agree with you on the STAR POWER 52 4F, that it is undertimed. How does ETS come up with such short timed sessions on their beds? The bed would be much better at 15 or 17 minutes. It is in no way comparable to the Sonnenbraune 844 Turbo I just aquired thru a used purchase. I also have a SUNLINER 48/8 Turbo, and it is a 15 Minute Max, and it will out due the STAR POWER SO BAD, that no one will use my STAR POWER ANY MORE! STAY AWAY from older no VHR Starpowers, as for the new ones with the VHR's in the tops, I dont know on them yet!
