Rep Power: 28 | I have a very old booth. In order to accomplish a tan in it you must stand there 15-20 mins. (like I said, VERY OLD) But not ready to upgrade it just yet. Could I put Hi Tan lamps in it and cut the time back to 10 mins. and get good results? Also, who makes Hi Tans? I now have Voltarc 6.5 F73 rdc in it. _________________ "The Only Disability In Life Is A Bad Attitude" Mitzi [ This Message was edited by: buntanner on 2002-03-10 17:19 ] |

Rep Power: 0 | I am assuming that it is a 100 watt booth. You could put in HI-TANS, made by cosmedico, with a 8.5% UVB. It probably would work but the results would not be anywhere near a real 160+ stand up booth. The results would be quick, but not as long lasting. Clients overall would not be near as happy as with a new booth. My advice is don't put any more money into the old booth and break down and get a new one (or a used new one). It will pay for itself through word of mouth with the tan clients are getting. Just be sure to do extensive research on what booth to get. |

Rep Power: 23 | Before you get Hi tan lamps (marketed by cosmedico) check the compatability. If you want to out brown the Hi Tan lamps use the philips Advantage-R or Light emission Rio Bronze -R or new Infrarouge. The best bet would be to upgrade and get a new unit if it is in your budget. |

Rep Power: 28 | I appreciate your replies. I am very limited with space and electrical is zapped also. So I wanted to wait until we build and relocate to spend money on a new booth. New location will have 3-phase electric so I can get the beds I really want. Just trying to get buy with the old one but make it a shorter tan session for this season. |

Okay, who can give me some price differences in the above lamps (Hi Tan and Phillips Advantage R) And some real comparison in the tanning outcome? Also, are the Advantage lamps 10mins? I really want to shorten the time on this booth. _________________ "The Only Disability In Life Is A Bad Attitude" Mitzi [ This Message was edited by: buntanner on 2002-04-22 17:40 ] |

Rep Power: 23 | The advantage reflector 100 wat has more total output than the Hi Tan.The lamps have similar tanning time but the Hi tan reddens more than browns and the advantage browns more than it reddens. We have had the advantage reflector in a 24 lamp bed and lighter people can only take 5 minutes |

Rep Power: 23 | Make sure your sockets can recieve a reflector lamp. Some older stand ups had the sockets that ran vertical instead of horizontal. Then if you put a reflector lamp in you would only see 1/2 reflector and 1/2 lamp. With the horizontal socket you see all lamp and the reflector is in the back. The Advantage R will make for a good, strong 12 min session. |
