A lady called me a few days ago who is looking to sell her 2001 Sun Dome XL-48. She had her unit in a lady's gym that closed after a few months. The bulbs have less than 200 hours on them. Since I am a newbie, I have a few questions.

1 - Is this a good unit?
2 - What is a fair price to pay?

Any help is appreciated!!

Thanks!

I have this unit, and my customers are crazy over it. What price is she asking? Maybe then I can tell you if it is a fair price?

be prepared for "high-maintenance" on that unit. very few choices when it comes to relamping, too. and about 3-4 years from now, you will have a hard time finding the plastic and other cosmetic body parts that have yellowed. the manufacturer discontinues plastic, etc. after 5 years.

as far as tanning goes, though, i hear its great.

We have been open about 2 mo. and have the sundome. I already get a backup of people waiting for this bed afterwork. As far as plastic goes. I don't know what these guys are talking about, My hubby and I put ours together with another guy, trust me plastic doesn't weigh this much. Also any 160 watt lamp that will fit a stand up will work. At least that is what a hereaus lamp guy told me. And then price about $5,500 would be the most I would pay. You should get it for considerably less. New about $6500. If you work a deal. I love the cage instead of acrylic. I vacuum it daily and get all the hairs and dust out. Much easier than taking the bed apart trust me!

Re: Sun Dome XL-48

I bought this bed used (2001) and it does tan exceptionally..I put the Rave bulbs in it and it's great..my only problem is the ventilation...customers can barely do the 10 minutes in this bed..should I get the ventilation checked or is this normal for this bed?

Re: Sun Dome XL-48

They run hot. Suncapsules are a better designs with the bigger fans and vented floors.
