Don is the expert on lamps. Here is a tip from Don's site.He recommends rotating the bulbs end on end.[ July 02, 2001: Message edited by: chunn ]

Excellent tip, I have 4 stand-ups with 160w reflector bulbs and I had never heard this before. I am assuming "end to end" means, change top to bottom and vice versa? Thanks!Stacey

I think what he means is you are basically flipping the bulbs. Say you install new bulbs in your booth, the text that is written on the bulbs is at the top of the booth. What i believe what is saying, is at about half of the bulbs life, you should flip the bulbs, so the text on the bulb would be near the bottom. make sense? someone PLEASE correct me if i am wrong.

I just noticed that it said you should flip the bulbs after they have been used for 250 hours or so, not have the bulb life.

That is very true. The mercury settles. But if you have split lamps (the ones that have a facial in one half) you cant do it. And that would be my standup. dagnabit!
