Tan Talkers:If you rotate the lamps in your 160 watt reflector stand up booths "end for end" after 200-250 hours, you will (1) improve the performance of the lamp, and, (2) increase the life of your (expensive) lamps. The reason is that the mercury used to ignite the phosphors collects around the bottom electrode and switching them every so often redistributes this material. Hereaus will soon introduce a lamp with a shorter electrode that was designed specifically for stand up tanning units in order to eliminate this problem.Hope this helps.Don

Darn,I never thought of that, what kind of output and life increase have you seen. How did you benchmark the output change. Darn, darn, darn, how many expensive lamps have I replaced prematurely!

Re: Lamp Tip - Stand Up Booth's

Can u reccomend lamps for any of these beds: Sunstar, Solaris, SunDome and SunCapsule Super Cyclone. Should I allow a Distributor to sell me a private label lamp?? What should I expect for cost and is there any way to test laps in used beds?
