I just replaced the lamps in a standup which had two lamps that would not light up. Now that I have the new lamps in the same two lamps are still not lighting. pink on ends but middle is dark. I switched positions w/ two lamps that were lighting up and those lamps won't work there either. It's in the same panel the left two lamps. It's a sun capsule perfect 10 if that has anything to do w/ it.

i had two bulbs in my beds that did the same thing, try running it for a couple of sessions and see if the phosphorus lights us, sometimes new bulbs do that. it will light up at the ends but the middle will be dark, my husband (who is an electrician, thank god!!) said it takes time for the entire bulb to light up, now if you run it for a couple of times and it still does it, contact your distributor, they should replace them no charge.

I don't think it's the lamps, when i switch the lamps around w/the ones right beside it the others did the same thing and the lamps that weren't lighting up the first time when moved to different location lit up. I did get in the stand up the other night and it seemed as though after the first 5 min or so they did go ahead and light so i never thought anything about it untill last night someone told me they weren't lighting. that person did tan for the full 10 min so they should have lit. I will say that when I pull the lamp out and remove what I think is the starter (little round thing) it says cosmedico k12 115/140W on it. I've got ultra extreme 170 vhor's in it. does that make a difference? I'm new and don't know much yet about the mechanics of it.

wildchilde, most likely its a capacitor. What panel in the suncapsule is it? Is it a SC I with a ballast tower on the left? PM me and I can help you more. Jeff

Pull the starters (little cylinder) and replace with regular s-12 starters. If that doesn't fix it, replace the ballast.
