Rep Power: 23 Bronze Star will become famous soon enough
Okay, so let's say I either buy or lease beds and/or booths. I've done my research and made the right decision and found the right ones for my needs. Now what? What am I looking for in the way of Warranty, Repair and Service from the individual that I obtained my bed/booth? What are the most important things to ask before buying or leasing? How long should I expect service once I buy or lease? What are things to watch out for? This is hypothetical and I haven't actually made my investment yet. I'm concerned about investing in something that will cause me headaches and "down" time. Laurie

All manufacturers warranties are different. Ask what kind of warranty they give on the bed parts, bed frame and if any labor is included in the warranty. Also find out if there is anyone in the area that can and will work on their equipment if it breaks down.

Hi, Thought I'd respond to your post.I'm a technician working in the northeast I get to jersey at least once a week.I also have worked for several manufacturers and do alot of install sevice work for many dist. around the country.I definitly recomend finding out from whover you buy your equipment from, the details on warranty.remember their is a huge difference in parts warranty and labor warranty! Also, remember that proper installation will make all the difference in the world on how you beds will perform over the long haul Of course I will suggest you equipment is installed professinally! thats my job. But, it makes sense to let people who do this day in and day out do what they do best.I have spoken to so many customersd that tell me their brother inlaw or even their electrician did their install.Tanning is a very intricate business.Even electricians do not know the ins and outs of a tanning beds, the little tricks of the trade that you learn after doing the same thing over and over many times. Many dist. and manufacturers are stating to see that having beds installed by qualified personell is the way to go!It cuts down onwarranty claims from the get go!Another consideration is where you buy your beds from,Im talking about geographiclly! My point here is this:If your bed goes down at 6;oopm on the east coast most of your manufacturers and dist. are closed by 5:00p.m.By the time you reach someone at the factory or dist. the next day to discuss the problem just to find out what is wrong you may have already lossed several hundred dollars in revenue and more importantly credibility with your clients.I recomend that all salon owners try to find an educated person to be able to work on their equipment for obvious reasons. Also, when the installation people are there installing make sure you take advantage of their presence, ask alot of questions these are the guys that Know!!!make sure you are familier with all aspects of the units before they leave you may or may not ever see these people again.Another thing to remmber is to have a cordless phone at your salon trust me this makes all the difference in the world when troubleshooting over the phone!I hope these suggestions help! If there is anything I can do please let me know!JTutsock@aol.comgood luck!
