Rep Power: 0 | Don, I was under the impression that ALL HP lamps now sold in the USA filtered out the uvc from within the lamp. Is this not the case. So the filter glass no longer filters out uvc like the units of old. The uvc is absorbed by the glass of the lamp itself. Am I wrong on this point???. There are many different kinds of glass as stated. In my Omega for instance my total % of uvb is about .85%. If I take out the clear glass only the uvb jumbs up to about 3.6%. If I take out the Blue glass only it jumps to about 3.0%. So both peices of glass TOGETHER filter out a bigger portion of uvb. My faced tanners on my Puretan beds are a little different. With both glass I get about 1.6%uvb. With the clear glass only I still get about 1.6% uvb. With the blue glass only I get about 2.2% uvb. Scott Scott |
