Re: which is a better line-up for new salon
I agree, Ergoline is one of the best looking units on the market. But I don't like the fact that you pay top $$ for a unit that only tans "just ok" and you have to have a certified tech with a computer program to access the tanning unit if it breaks down. The salon owner is locked out if something were to go wrong.
KBL, again, very nice looking and tans very well. Sportarredo units tan very well also. I believe that they look great and gives fantasitc performance for less money than Ergoline and KBL. The only thing I can tell you is..."Try before you buy." See for yourself, this way you know what your getting and not getting other peoples "opinions" on what they "think" a unit does or doesn't. Most people on these chat sites have never tried all the units and only go by what they have heard from before. They give their opinions on something they have never tried or seen before.

Re: which is a better line-up for new salon
forevertanned, going back to the original question of line up. I don't see mention of a high pressure in your choices. Take this advice from a novice at best that made that mistake. You need a high pressure. These other guys chimming in have been doing this a lot longer than me and I'm sure they will agree. I wish I had ditched a lower level bed and used a room for hp, I will not make that mistake again.

Re: which is a better line-up for new salon
i appreciate everyones comments and advice! i was going to ask about a high pressure bed. do you think i should ditch one of my high level beds for a HP? this would bring my line-up to:
1 HP 1 high level 2 med 2 low 1 stand-up or should i take one of my low levels out and keep my high level? i really do appreciate all the help! |

I agree, HP should be included. I will never open a salon without a HP. I have 3 salons and HP makes all the difference in profits.

Re: which is a better line-up for new salon
How large is your space & how much is your rent? Will your space allow you to put in the beds you need to open and then later put in more once you know what is needed for your situation?
How much electric do you have? You may not have the electric you need to put in the beds you would like which could possible make it nearly impossible to be profitable. How much AC do you have? If you can't cool the beds and the space you will kill your equipment and staff. What is your pricing structure going to be? This should be known before you even think about what beds to buy! What does your competition have and what is their price structure? Have you considered used beds? You can buy 1-2 year old beds for less than half of new. |

Re: which is a better line-up for new salon
1 HP
1 high level 2 med 2 low 1 stand-up that mix looks good, especially if you have students in your area. You have to have a cheap bed for them to get packages in and then sell them upgrades. movieking is right there is a lot to factor in before a choice is made. Re: which is a better line-up for new salon
i know im going to need 400amp service and 10t a/c, im just waiting for the builder to get back to me on those two, she is shocked that i would need that kinda juice, but i told her many times. i think i have my price structure down pretty good, maybe a few tweaks, the space is 1500sqft, but its only 19 wide which gives me headaches.
