I am not a salon owner, just a customer who is thinking about purchasing a salon bed for home use. I have looked at home tanning beds and the bulbs are 4 inches apart or the bed is so expensive I wouldn't even consider them. The owner of this salon says it's a Sundash 26. I went and looked at it and it has Wolffesystems Bellarium S sticker on the side. It is a 20 minute bed. I looked at the lamps, and all I could make out was some vertical letters H /4 B 8 and the brand of Hi-tan 100w.
I normally tan at a salon that has larger 10 minute beds so I have nothing simliar to compare to. I've tanned at the Celsius Tannery for 6 years now- I use the future sun and the 52. I but heard of a salon downsizing near my work and thought I would try keeping my money at home! She wants $1400.00 for this bed. Does anyone have any experience or information about this bed? I know it also 220V and has a fan at the bottom. It looks like a nice bed that has been maintained well and the salon owner has three salons locally. Thanks for your help in advance ;) |

Re: Is the Sundash 26 a good bed?
It only worth it if you plan on using it a lot. Many people buy beds form home to save money. If a person bought a package from me, lets say two months, each year it would take them 10 years to start saving money it they bought the bed for $1,000.00
Keep that in mind before you jump. Also keep in mind re-lamping a bed can run several hundred dollars. As for the value of that particular bed, cant help!

Re: Is the Sundash 26 a good bed?
Thanks for the quick response! I spent $1200 last year at my tanning salon (I like to buy upgrades to HP beds) and I sometimes feel like I would tan more frequently if I had a bed at home. I would most likely tan 3-4 times per week.

Ok... well then!
How many lamps are in that bed. Personally I would never go with anything less than 30. Face tanners would also be a requirement, at least one but three preferred. Anything less may not perform as well as you are used to, especially when compared to an HP.

I don't care what year, I would never pay that for a bed with specs like that. It wont tan you, it will tease you.... :)
You can look into the SunStar ZX30 3F. There are TONS of them out there and they can be had cheap. Check out www.2ndsuntan.com

Re: Is the Sundash 26 a good bed?
Jennifer -
If, when given a choice, you CHOOSE to pay to upgrade to equipment like the 52 and the Future Sun then it is my opinion that you will NEVER be happy with a bed you would put in your home. Yes - the Sundash 226 is a very fine base bed. Many salons have them, many salons use them. You could probably find tanning on a bed like this for $200-300/year - unlimited - in most towns. Maybe even in the salon you use now. But given other choices - you CHOOSE to pay more to use better equipment. Perhaps to save your time, perhaps to get better results. If you want to spend less, you would be better off downgrading to other equipment at your local salon sometimes, and using the 52 and Future Sun more as a "treat" as opposed to regular equipment. If you buy this bed, I doubt it will be more than a month before you are back at your salon, paying to use their better equipment. As an experiment - before you buy - buy a one month unlimited package on the most basic bed in your salon and use it. My guess is the results, comfort, features and everything else will have you deciding this would be a poor choice - for you.
