Re: Best Beds
Well ones that dont suck up hair, thats always a major issues when you combine these services. ;)
Most people dont have very good expectations, at least around here, of a hair/tanning salon combo. So you can pretty much go with anything economical. I would check out the beds fro ETS, such as the SunStar or even the SunVision if they still make it. I am not sure how many beds you will want, but its often best to start of with a couple and the rooms to add more. As demand goes up you can add more beds or diversify to get the beds that are in demand.

Re: Best Beds
Not saying its a good or bad idea, you just may want to check you demographics. I for one never have and never will tanning in anything that provides other services unless its a spa-like environ.
If its a really small town people have less choice so it may work well. If the population is 40k+ then it can go either way. 60k+ and you may have people like me! :) lol I think the best "solution" I have seen is when the two businesses appear to operate separately. Same building but a clear divide between the two services. And one chair wont cut it, plan to rent out several chairs (three at least) for at least $500 a month. If you can, separate entrances for each but the foyer itself could be one - yes sounds odd, but I have seen it and it works well. And dont plan on having the salon staff provide cleaning services for the hair salon and vice versa, but I would certainly use the tanning salon software to book the services for the hair salon and even the tanning staff responsible for doing so. Does that sorta make sense? Lets put it this way, I have seen laundry mats and tanning salon combos.... thats just not right. ewwwww

Re: Best Beds
Ok, then go for the combo by try to think how you can keep them "seperate". You do not want to walk through the hair salon to go to a bed, etc. Try to find a creative way for traffic flow and keep them as seperate as you can. Remember the tanning beds cam hun away pretty loud and people tanning dont want to hear cell phones going off or the latest on Brintanny Spears. :)
