Re: electric bill
I do have ceiling fans, and I'm sure they do help some. This summer has been extremely hot with no let up in sight. We have had weeks in the 80s and 90s with no rain and it continues. Being this business is so seasonal, has anyone ever thought about closing completely for a couple of months, say July and August? I own my building, losing money every day, so would I completly erode my customer base by doing this? This thought has crossed my mind.

Re: electric bill
Parrot Head, If you are only tanning 20 people a day I would crank that thermostat way up and put a fan on yourself. 20 people can suffer a bit.

The equipment will suffer as well.

Re: electric bill
I don't think the equipment is going to suffer. I don't know the set up but I would assume PH has atleast 13 pieces of equipment and if they are tanning 20 peeps a day that is like 2 sessions a bed. I am not saying let the place go up to 90 degrees. I keep my salon at 65 in the busy season. During slow times when I am tanning 30 or less I keep the thermostat at 73-75 depending on outside temp. Makes a huge difference in the electric bill and not much difference in the tanning session. JMO

Re: electric bill
It saves me about $200-$300 a month on electric bill. I also have a programmable thermostat and set it higher overnight and keep it average for morning and early afternoon and then a bit lower for evening 4pm-6pm. I have played around and found what works for us.
