Re: Importance of Advertising

i haven't done any advertising (other then the yellow pages) in over four years... however i strategically placed my salons and namesake so that i am able to feed off all the major advertising chains around me. i love it... they spend all the money and do all the hard work and i reap the benefits!

Re: Importance of Advertising

Radio ads around here are 10.00 per 30 second commercial. Not sure what you spent but you picked up 3 new clients and potentially anyone else they know or their family. Sounds like it was effective to me.

yeah we did/are doing radio spots also. so far we are about 65% ROI for these ads, which is really not too bad. i always thought radio was the black hole of advertising, and still do in some cases. we went with a local station here as part of our last opening. did a 3 month stint, took a 2 month break, and just signed on for a 6 month stint to take us to sep-07. along with our ads, we also get 1,500 mentions during this time frame, and are a sponsor of their Summer Bash which is all summer long, gets us a logo on their van, mentions at every remote they do, sponsorship at the remotes, and giveaways on the station until september. all in all the cost to us is about 600 per month for this and 40 .60 second exclusive commercials per week. so, all in all, not a bad deal, but as usual, i had to negotiate the **** out of the reate before i got what i wanted.

we figure after this run, we will not do anymore radio ads for a long, long time!!!!

Re: Importance of Advertising

$10 per 30 second commercial???? I'd have my own radio station at that price. My lowest in my area was 3K per month. I'll let the franchises and comp do it and when they **** the client off they'll come to us.

Re: Importance of Advertising

radio in my area is usually around $50 per 60 second spot...but i spend around $500 to get this price and run the 10 spots on either sat or sun......not many direct sales from the deal i put out but i beleive it helps alot in name recognition and others come in because of it they just dont buy that "radio" offer
