Re: Texas Newbie - Questions

You guys give some awesome advice. I am on this site everyday and read new and old threads alike. I have learned so much just from this site.

SunSally - GREAT advice. I DID mean that we don't need any profits from the salon to pay our bills. I am actually about 15 miles outside of Houston in a large town. We have about 6 salons in Humble, but none of them are exceptional. Well, except for Darque Tan. But for some reason they are in this run down building that used to be pink and housed a mexican restaurant. I went in there a couple of years ago to see about a membership & I couldn't even get past the lobby. The place is hideous. Their equipment is so good though, but that building....eww!

NeonBeach - instead of going back to your old job, want a new one?? I'll be hiring in May! LOL - just kidding.

Thanks for all of the great advice guys. I will definately re-think getting all of my equipment from ETS. I'm sure I'll be picking your brains many more times!

Re: Texas Newbie - Questions

Very good points Sunsally!! Is the 10% an average? If so where is the data from. Compared to my numbers that is low. But as we now it changes everywhere.

Good luck glow girl!

Re: Texas Newbie - Questions

I agree with Sunsally on most of the aspects discussed here. I would like to add that the 10% numbers are rule of thumb and may be different based on your situation. As an example, I'm located in a small college town next to campus. I have a local population of approximately 20,000 and a college crowd of about 8000. Because the locals don't like to frequent where the college kids hang out, my local business is at most 3%. My college business is closer to 25%.

Neon, how many times do you have to be told? Stop pulling other people's body parts...
