What is The Youngest Age A Salon Can allow A person On The Sunbeds????......
In the Uk where i'm from it's 16 years the same for us to employ someone. I just wondered if the laws in the US were the same.

It differs from state to state
In our state 14-17 needs parental consent Under age of 14 needs a doctors note to tan

I require parent consent from 14-17. Must be over 16 to work here. Many 14 year olds tan before vacation w/ their families.

In the US tanning is regulated by the states. So it depends what state your salon is in. In Indiana anyone under 16 must have a parent's consent and the parent must be present to acknowledge the tan time givenand stay while they are tanning. We are seeing more and more families tanning prior to vacations, children and all. Make sure the parent practices with their child on opening the tanning bed, as this can freak a kid out.

under 16 needs parental consent.. just to cover my butt, even tho there aren't really any laws concerning tanning in canada yet. ::knock on wood::

Regs say under 18 parent sign, under 16 parent with them, our company policy is 14 is the youngest we allow.

Well i'm astonished!!!
If any UK sunbed shop allowed an under 16year old in to have a sunbed, blimy. We'd be "hung drawn and quartered". Amazing! I dread to think what would happen if i let a child in under 14years. The goverment would shut us down!!! I just can't belive it! |
