Am I an idiot or is this a good idea?
I don't own a salon or anything just trying to get a second source of income. I am considering purchasing a mobile airbrush tanning set-up. I would go to clients houses and provide them with the service in the comfort of their own homes. I know this is done in Hollywood, but could it work in other Metro areas? I've researched some of the equipment how much do you think I should expect to spend in start-up costs to get good looking tans that clients would be pleased with?

I think there is at least one person who posts here that does this but I cannot help wondering .... how? You'll have them stand in their shower? You'll set up this big noisy equipment... where? I don't know how this could be done -- not saying it can't because apparently it IS being done -- but have you thought all that out? HOW is what I'm asking.

it can be done.. if people dont mind it going on thier furniture.. or get a pop up tent and put towels on the floor... depending what machine you get I would say it can be around $2K to star t up

It was just a thought. I assumed because they sold portable equipment and pop-up tents people were doing it. Thank you for the feedback, I wish I could just open my own salon but unforunately I don't have the funds.

agree whole-heartedly with CTM.......they main clientele is going to be female and I doubt many women will feel comfortable having a man spray them even in a professional salon, let alone allowing a man into their homes to do it
