Tanning Salons in Resort Towns

Hi Everyone! I'm a newbie, looking to open my own salon in the near future. Does anyone have any experience with tanning salons in resort areas? I'm confident that the local traffic will be good, but can I also count on drop-ins from vacationers? I plan to make both UV and non-UV tanning options available.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, I'm a bit overwhelmed with all of the info I'm working on organizing here!

Hello there I have a salon in Ft Myers Beach in Fla. The locals will give you support because they have to work to pay their bills. The tourists WILL drop in on a rainy or a coolday. Just a cloudy day will bring them in. Sunny in Ft Myers Beach

Thanks Blondebommer! I figured I could count on a little from the visitors, but wanted to be sure. :)

Re: Tanning Salons in Resort Towns

Where are you looking at opening at? The area I think plays a lot into the resort area. Is it always sunny? Does it rain often? We have a sort of resort location in the Outer Banks and because the weather is such a toss up here we get a lot of tourists in willing to pay whatever the price because they don't want to go home from vacation without a tan. Yet we have a good local business as well because the locals don't tend to go to the beach in the summer 1. b/c the beaches are too crowded 2. b/c they are too busy working to get out to the sun. But living at the beach they really want to have a nice tan in order to fit in!!!

PM me I will fill you in more or answer any questions for you
