Re: Lotion Lines for a new salon to carry?

I've been trying a lot of samples before ordering. And still do. We decided selling some and phasing out some too because they didn't do as well as I expected.

You do need a variety of lotions (in brands and price ranges), there is another thread in which the amount was discussed, but we didn't come to an agreement :-)

In my opinion: about 20 different lotions from 3-4 brands.

Right now we carry lotions from John Abaté, Designer Skin and Trend Tanology from Art of Sun. About 6-7 lotions from each brand. We're phasing out Australian Gold.

Try out all kinds of lotions, get a few favorites and you'll see you can sell in every price range as long as you believe in it.

Good luck!

O and get in each line a straight accelerator, a bronzer, a cooling bronzer and a tingle lotion.

Re: Lotion Lines for a new salon to carry?

Every one also has diffrent skin types and lotions cater for this.
I have also found that asking your client what type of colour or how dark, golden bronze, what ever, what colour your client is hoping to achive. Helps you to advise them on the best product you feel would be suitable for them.

We are all individuals and like diffrent properties in our skincare products.

For me though i'm looking for another product to retail which is as dark as coco beach gold! But nothing at the moment seems to compare

We are a new salon owner too and are confused about which lotions to sell. I don't think much about the replies you have had so far! What about some advice for the newcomers?

Hvae at least three levels of lotion. Like one of you said, not everyone can afford a 100.00 bottle of lotion. Carry some for the "kids" that will come(teens/high schoolers) Like emerald bay, get some tini by fiesta sun girls like that-- Tatoo by Supre is good for guys--my fav line is Designer Skin, they have different levels within themselves. I find that sells the best. My opinion-- Australian Gold is known as Cheap lotion -- Just my opinion though...good luck!!!

Re: Lotion Lines for a new salon to carry?

sortedcres and sun lounger: Australian Gold may be known as a cheap lotion, for us European salon owners it's not cheap to get it on the shelves. We've been phasing out AG because I think for the money you can get much better lotions.

I agree with kjangles, have several levels of lotion: a value line, a 'middle' line and a more expensive (but also better quality) line. I already wrote above what we carry.

Good luck.
