come on, nothing wrong with a little bit of different info from time to time. I don't have it in for anyone, I bet Steve is awesome at what he does, never said anything directly negative about him or his business, just trying to get folks to know that there is so much they can do on their own also.....

Re: Does Your Old Salon Need Help?

I think the issue is that everyone thinks they have the answers.
They won't pay a penny for some advice.
Not even their time to go to a seminar.
How many times have you seen the same salon sell, over & over & over.
People think THEY have the right way of doing things, because it is THEIR way.

A rep from Helios years ago approached me to go around the country and train and assist salons on exactly this topic. Of Course it would be the ones that signed up with Helios. Is was when they merged with ETS. I forgot what they were calling it, but it had a small fee. Very much worth the dime.
But anyway, It never took off. No one payed the extra dough ????

This goes back to evaluating the location. If this location was evaluated first the only advice a qualified adviser could give you is that it can't support a tanning salon.

Can't never could do anything. I will find the click I need Especially since I am not just for tanning. People here are behind in times and need a little push to try things. When they enter this salon, they come back but alot more could happen if they would just come out of dinosaur times and try something new. I did not get advise on if it would be a good place to open a business, I was doing this to offer a little bit of the city and to have a nice place to tan myself. Sure I want to make money and maybe even afford to hire someone, but for now I will trial and error until I get it right! I will succeed!!!

IMO, Probably less how much extra dough it cost & more that salon owners work 6 or 7 days a week and can't spend the TIME.

Re: Does Your Old Salon Need Help?

I am not surprised at the amount of emails I have received from salon owners that have been in business for a year up to 8 years and are very unhappy with the income they are producing. Without fail after establishing the nature of their salons, they have put themselves or have been put in a situation to fail by their distributor. It is also easy to identify what is needed to get on the road of success.

The logo factory is a great place to have your logo created.

Steve,
What do you do when you always stay out front with equiptment redecorating, new pricing systems, always new lotions and seem to implement new ideas in your own area before anyone else and you are still slow?

You have to evaluate your marketing program (pricing) and advertising. What you do during the active time of the year will determine your pace during slower times. I also hope you have a very aggressive Email campaign.
