Re: Tanning Salon Add-Ons????

I wonder how insurance would be on that? Would it be worth it? Plus I personally don't want "little bundles of joy" in my salon. They are too loud and messy. Sticky fingers and runny noses and all the little colds and coughs. I don't want to smell a diaper neverless listen to some scream bloody murder when there parents drop them off to tan. NO way for me. But maybe in a bigger city area it would go over well.

Re: Tanning Salon Add-Ons????

I have plenty of space for doing these extra services and i am in talks with a few people that want to do massage, hair and body wraps. We have been discussing these options for over 6 months and I have been scared to take the leap because I am expanding my tanning salon and wanted to concentrate on that. HOWEVER, perhaps the more things I have going on, the more customers I will have for my tanning. The girls that want to do this are popular and have a big following already. I have to make this decision soon as I am expanding. This is a big leap because I would hate to have these people come in and then eventually quit. I could really use some advice on this because these gals are waiting on me....

Re: Tanning Salon Add-Ons????

I have some advice for you missyhot. chair rental. don't have to worry about taxes and such.I to am in the process of buying into a spa. :) Running my skincare out of that and buying the building next to it putting a walk way in and having my tanning beds there. Let me know if I can help at all.

Re: Tanning Salon Add-Ons????

I can always count on you Tan. The big thing is I have a successful store that I would be eliminating to set up this whole spa. We would offer different services and I know it would bring in customers but what I have going now seems to be working. Like everything else, It would be a risk I would have to take. The gal thats pushing me is here right now......reading this and is also curious what others think. She wants to succeed also. This is a very small town but there are not any hair dressers under the age of 100 (hehe) around nor any type of spa stuff. The massuese is a local girl who just got her liscense too. I'm going to pm you tan. Thanks for the info. I'm really torn and need to make some firm decisions soon!

Re: Tanning Salon Add-Ons????

Well she doesn't know what my rent is... and shouldn't I called a bunch of places that rent out space to therapists to find out what going room rent was and for what services. I do book her appointments. I charge her to use my debit/ATM machine. She has a month to month lease. Any more questions pm me and I will answer

Re: Tanning Salon Add-Ons????

In Florida you do need a special license to offer massage, you get it from Tallahasse. Don't know details but My hubby manages a gym and got in a whole bunch of trouble for not renewing the licence in time (the girls also work for themselves and rent the space and also have their own license)
