Re: to franchise or not?
There is only one franchise out there worth a **** IMO, and it starts with T. Talking about tanning franchises of course. There are others that might be worth a **** - yes, even Quiznos ... they are making a comeback - darn good menu; but for this biz, nada tostada unless ...

Re: to franchise or not?
trlkidd,
Was the $58k one of your "Grand Opening" months or a average May for you? Most people have no idea about DS since they are mainly in the Pac. Northwest area. I think (IMO) that most of the 50-60 new salons opening in the past year will be scratching their heads in a few years. As for now they are "cleaning up" in area's that did not have a strong competitor. The area's that did have a high end, large salon lost the bottom feeders with your $9.95 coupon. Hopefully many of the small 1980's salons will now close. Since your a DS franchisee, your running 6-tropicals/3-Lotus/2-P90 and spray or something close to that configuration, right? What do you think will happen when a large salon opens across the street from you with the (now) standard high end build out AND (20+ units) only VHR and HP @ $49.00-69.00 all access pass, first month FREE.....will YOU be able to compete with your set-up with your DS configuration? Don't you think DS's rapid growth in a very very short time attracted the attention of many people that are in the planning stages as I type? |
