Good Morning & Hello to All!
We are new to the tanning business and I would like to thank all the posters for the information you have made available.
I have accumulated several hours of valuable information which will assist us both with our new business venture. We opened at the end of November and are still struggling with bringing new customers. We continue to be optimistic and looking forward to the peak season we have read and heard so much about. I look forward to any and all advice from the seasoned and sucessful salon owners. Right about now I feel just like the man in the commerical that explains just how he as all this........ I am in debt up to my eyeballs Again, thank you all for sharing information. Best Regards, Barbs |

Re: Good Morning & Hello to All!
I think I would style your Logo with the 'a' in Barbs with little Devil Horns on it ... (just to play both sides of the equation :) )
I like Shrimp..... but not the frozen stuff..... and then I start to think ~ if the person whose job it is .... to pull their guts out.... is feeling crabby ~ ~ uffffdah.... makes me only want to eat shrimp that i've pulled their guts out..... then I start to think ~ ~ **** No!! It's easier to eat a dagnab burger than be dealing with guts and stuff!!! Anywhooooo..... feel free to use my idea on the devil horns.... if you someday makes lots of money ~ ~ donate a bit to the Sister Sheila's Home for Sassy Girls |

Re: Good Morning & Hello to All!
Good Luck B&D! I've been in the Bus. for 9 months and it started out strong, November and December were horrible but I see it slowly picking up again. The off months really kill ya so you just scan TANTALK for hours during the slow season to keep your sanity. I am actually expanding my salon to more beds so I know about debt. I keep going deeper and deeper but I've learned that I must also have enough supply to meet the demand when it is there. It seems I go for hours with beds sitting empty or I get slammed and have people sitting and waiting to use a bed. It's an interesting Business! AGAIN GOOD LUCK!

Re: Good Morning & Hello to All!
Thank you for the encouraging words Missy !
I have kept my day job and Dean runs the salon. Needless to say I have avoided the minimum pay scale here in Georgia. Poor thing doesn't have a paycheck in sight right now. Well, ok, I did give him $20 a couple of weeks ago and told him to use it wisely....teehee! Shelia, the a with horns thing is a really cute idea. Gotta be really careful in the bible belt though and not offend anyone. Heck, they're still spending thousands of dollars in a small town here fighting about the 10 commandments staying on the wall in the county courthouse. I better get my butt to work cleaning this house now! I could sit here and read posts for hours. I just love this website! SO much GREAT information and GREAT people ! |
