If you are opening one salon timing is critial. Timing is always critical...

There are a lot of tanning lenders that you can lease from. You do not need to leverage your house, or second child.
I like mixing traditional loans with leasing to merge a fair interest rate.

If you can get a traditional bank/Sba loan that is a bonus.
You can get money in this business BUT it has to make sense. Do not let passion out weigh a good deal.

I have evaluated salons that were "on the market"...and every salon had
6 leases for one location!
There seems to be a common theme...

If you cannot have a merged 8%-13% for a new location with leases/loans....be very careful.

If you plan on opening any business you must be committed. If you are not confident enough in your plan for success, how can a lender be confident enough to invest. Someone said to buy used equipment and do your own finish-out. This thinking will surely ad to your failure. This is a very competitive industry with knowledgeable tanners that can very simply determine the difference between a great tanning salon with fantastic packaging and a salon that is substandard. Do it the right way or don't risk what little money you have to invest. I can look at your plan and tell you with great accuracy if you will succeed or fail. There is no secret to success, it is all about being prepared with a plan that will ensure success.

mstnt, don't forget to go to Vegas this year. The 1rst year we went we had so much fun. The second was not that great, but to be amongst us all is sooo fun.
