I've been researching my options for different equipment and would appreciate any advice from you guys.

I'm considering UltraSun equipment for my salon.

Thank You

UltraSun is the company that started the BIG BED craze now going. You can thank them for many choices now available here in the USA that were not here until Ultrasun blazed the trail. I have their beds and am very happy.

There are other nice units out there too and I am sure others will chime in who have some that they are happy with.

But if you take into account looks, durability, tanning ability, and cost of future maintenance; UltraSun is going to be a good choice.

UltraSun beds are very reliable, durable and deliver a good tan. I would recommend them.

One of the top worst from an owner's perspective. Hope you have some technical aptitude, a good set of tools, and plenty of time.

Mr. B

Were talking about UltraSun not Tan America, ETS, or MegaSun.

I had Ultra Sun in my other salon, the plastics cracked, metal cracked, (what's with the HUGE spacing between the lamps??) Digital display went bad, facials worked when they wanted to etc...

Bought it new a few years back, NEVER AGAIN.

dcjjp2,

What model and year are you talking about? Their smallest bed in that time frame is 38-40 lamps. Only about 1/4 inch between lamps.

You must be confusing it with another line.

It was like a 2000 Ultra sun Sunburst 4000 I think? The lamps on the bottom were really spaced apart

That was Ultrasuns worst model year for the 4000. They tried to make is cheaper for salon owners by eliminating the large turbo end fans and did not use the molded duraflex-plastic that they and Mercedes now use in their bumpers.

But there are 40 lamps in that unit, 20 on bottom and 20 on top. Most base beds only have 12-16 lamps on bottom or top.
