I need help

Hi everybody.
I'm new in the industry and currently doing my research before opening a salon.
My biggest question is:
Could I run a tanning salon as a self-service business without sales people, etc.?
Can I make money without selling packages?

You are in a regulated State, don't think you can do it in New York.

One more question. If you don't mind me asking, how much of your total sales are
packages (in terms of percentage) and lotion sales?

IMO, regulations in your state are not even the point. By opening up a "self-serve" tanning salon, you are just going back in time. With all the hard work we put in trying to educate our clients on safe tanning and benefits of ultraviolet light, not having someone there to guide them through the process just sets us back.

My lotion sales count for about 20%
