Need some advice. Live in rural area. Opening small salon. My choices of beds are as follows:

Used(Aruba) 24 bulb beds that a friend uses in his salons. Seen them only in a picture, but he says they are workhorses and tan great! Both for $1600.00.

or

Used(Impact) 28 bulb beds from a manufacture with new genesis bulbs and a limited warranty.
Both for $4000.00.

These would be for my level 1 beds. My out of pocket funds are limited due to the finish out. Do you think it is worth going for 28, or due you think there will be much of a difference?

YES! Go for the 28. Pure Tan, the impacts are AWESOME beds, you will not be sorry spending alittle more for those beds. 24 bulb beds are very small, mostly used for home units.
Go with Pure Tan and I promise you you will be very happy, and if not you can come on here and haunt me daily!

24lamp beds are for home useage not salon usage. word of advice, when buying beds buy based on what you are looking to charge for the bed. 24/28 lamp bed, dont expect more than 5-6bucks a tan and thats walkin price.

Goal is to buy newer ones. My question is: Is the "tanning result" that different? My friend uses the Aruba's in all his salons(4 locations) and says the customers love them. Do your customers ever ask, "How many bulbs do your beds have?"

i used my arubas for the first year my customers loved them, i replaced them the second year with new 3202 sunliners and my customers liked those even better. and yes i have customers ask how many lamps. i am in a small market also, you should condsider what your competitors offer and try to offer a little more if budget allows. i dont think 24/ vs 28 is much difference ....but those impacts are newer and may be in better condition

the difference is when someone opens up 6 feet from your salon with 40lamp beds for only $1 more than what you are selling.

Call Puretan and look into their tanscene line. We recently bought some new tanscene 28's with a textured black colored shell ($500 extra) for $3100. They are great beds.

Yeah clients do ask how many bulbs, and there is NO WAY I would ever put a 24 bulb bed in my home let alone my salon.

Is that because it doesn't tan as well, or is it strictly bc it is 24?
