Lotions suggested wholesale price combined by the 25 percent off a distrbutor wants to stay at is based on GREED. not cost to make product lol-alot of distributors buy dark tan accelerator for 2 -2.50 based on volume and buy direct from AG. Then sell it to the salon owner for 5.25 -40 off 4.35-u do the math. And why do they tell the salon owner what does your distibutor do for u besides price?? comon wake up- what we need is more independent small distributors who arent greedy and want to help the salon owner really thrive-both in price and service-oh and by the way did i mention the spiff dollars distributors get from the mfg based on volume?? brings the cost down to 1.50 easy for a midsize distributor----salon owners have been listening to this crap and price stability to improve the industry propaganda between distributors and mfg. for too long--huggzzz

u sell it for the 300% markup to the comsumer -same as u had to pay to the distributor----or just a thought pass the savings on to the customer-they wont be going anywhere else to tan- free enterprise -instead of industry controlled pricing-no to mention the services-facilities u have to offer your customer already-thats a no brainer

What in the heel makes you think a distributors does not deserve to make a living of the product he/she sells? In some cases the manufactures are setting the price not the distributors. Everyone is doing what they can to control market share.

The problem with this industry is that every player (salon woner, counter clerk, bed washer, disty, disty rep, mfr, mfr rep, trade show organization, trade show organization rep, end user) thinks it's all about them, and no one else. Consumers are there to patronize the salon; salons are there to patronize the distys, mfrs, trade show orgs, trade mags, and everyone else in between. The "food chain" that is the indoor tanning industry is predator heavy. I commented a little on this industry condition in my journal the other day. The "salon" group is the largest of all, and yet it's the weakest. That's because we are a group only in name. We have no representation, and we're only as important to the vendors as our current order, subscription, or web site affiliation.

MrB. Again I agree with you to a certain degree. The tanning industry is over supplied. Lotions - it seem every Tom, ****, and Harry has a lotion line. The market place is not growing, but the supply line seems to have a never ending growth

fact is u should be able to buy your products for any price you can get them for and sell them for any price you want -until then the tanning salon owner is at the mercy of industry manf and distrib mandated pricing and blackmailed to not sell too much lower than their competitor or they will not be allowed to carry their products-sounds illegal to me-if not --it oughta be lol ---Hugzz yall

You are missing the point-as a small distributor -your ablity to get a better break from mfg-gives you the abilty to have better pricing for your customer and levels the playing field for YOU regarding larger distributors ability to keep most of that market share for themselves- THINK ABOUT THAT FOR AWHILE-
