Okay wait, try SolarTouch. They keep track of referrals. I had a problem with the demo so I didn't get to see the end result. I'm not sure if it was SolarTouch or another one that when I customer referred someone there were options to "do nothing, thank them or credit". I'll try to figure it out. I've demo-ed so many I'm dizzy.

What's wrong with raising the prices a little to give it back. I don't think anybody would want to lose the benefits they are getting from having people pay for their tanning. It should also keep an influx of new referrals coming to the shop.

Sandigirl,
Couldn't find solartouch but the other software companies had something like that but its too much of a hassle because on every purchase would have to manually credit account. Trying to get software that can solve that problem the human error is too much in that situation and could be a nightmare.

In Tan Track, you can make a note of this so that you can give a discount on the next visit.....

Pay the customer? That is so wrong.......Just give them a discount or add several days to their current package when they bring in someone.

Anyways that's what I'm going to do. I'm not actually paying them. Their account is to be credited to be spent in the store on upgrades or lotions. Has anybody used Microsoft before for tanning software?

Oops, SolarTrack: http://www.solartrack.co.uk/tour.html

We have a referral program too and I'm looking to find one that keeps track of the discounts they'd be intitled to also.

I just read this for the first time today. It seems you may be making it harder than what it really is to give "commission" to customers. I am currently using Helios v9. It has a Bonus Buck feature in it. I reward our CURRENT customers with a free session, when they send in at least three referrals.
What I did was make a seperate sale code for referrals, I priced it to match 1/3 of a single tan.
Each time a new customer comes in, I chose that sale code for the client who reffered them to us.
With each "referral" transaction that is made for the client, it adds an $amount to their bonus bucks in their customer profile.
When they have at least three, they have earned enough to purchase a single session.

I have some customers who will save their "bucks" and buy upgrade tanning packages. Plus it's win-win. The client is earning and saving "money" to spend on themselves and you are getting new customers.
