In regards to buying used beds, what has been your experience with how they are packaged - are they shipped fully assembled or broken down in sections?

If already assembled, are they fairly easy to break down and put back together after the various parts are moved into an existing tanning room?

Any suggestions on who to buy "used" from and who NOT to buy from? I am looking at buying new, just so I will recieve delivery and installation included.

Thanks in advance!

I would never pay for anything sight unseen, ESPECIALLY over the internet. If they supply a picture, there better be a guy standing next to the bed holding a current newspaper. Good Luck!

Just so you know. when you buy the units brand new, you dont get any type installation- ****, you dont even get any help getting the units off of the Mack Truck!! It took me and 5 of my buddies to unload the stuff, and I hired someone to come down to help us put it all together. The whole thing took about 12 hours- and it wasnt cheap to get the installer. Not to mention, all he does is help you put the beds together, you need your electrician to come and wire it all!! Whether you buy used or new, you will have to take care of setting it up yourself.

Depends on who you purchase the equipment from. A good distributor should help you every step of the way. Yes, there normally is installation charges but you know it is done correctly. Some distributors don't do electrical hook up due to liability.

Thanks for input. That is something I will definitely need to ask about when purchasing new equipment. I assumed that delivery and installation was included in all "new" purchases. That's what ya get for assuming, huh?

None of you touched on this, so I'll ask again. Are the beds fairly easy to disassemble and reassemble in order to get them into a room? Also, do you find that a regular electrician can handle anything on a bed?

Thanks again...everyone here is so friendly and willing to help us newbies out!

Buyer beware is the best advice. As far as to how they are shipped, that's up to the shipper I would suppose.

AS far as assembly. When I rec'd mine new, it was canopy in one box and bench in the other. Bench goes in first and canopy second. Place the canopy onto the bench with some padded spacers (2 x 4's) or equivalent to make mating the pivot ponts.......

I bought my beds from a Soltron distributor who also had a crew do the set-up in the rooms. The beds were delivered fully assembled and on a pallet. The beds had to be disassembled totally in order to get them through the doors. I had a local electrician available at the install and he simply hooked the beds to the main power and we were ready to go. My distributor did all the low voltage connections such as timer and radio speakers. He assigned the rooms to the correct number on the T-max and we were up and running in less then 2 days. I had 10 beds installed. The delivery and install was not free. It cost me about $3000. If a ditsey tells you it's free, believe me you're paying for it somewhere.

I am sure your delivery and installation cost depend on alot of different things. But like Sarge said
"A good distributor should help you every step of the way Yes, there normally is installation charges but you know it is done correctly." And I feel Sunfabrications went way beyond what most would have done!
