I've bought new and used. My new beds were delivered canopy in one box and bench in the other. My distributor brought em in and set them up (along with the electrician). Some of the used beds I bought were the same way, but you have to have someone to unload them and the trucking company does not help.... I have bought 3 used beds and they were all damaged in one way or the other by the trucking company that shipped them, even though the seller did package them carefully. Be careful buying used equiment...make sure your getting what your paying for.

I agree I had a bed shipped (used) via Overnight transportation! The bed was not only damaged but destroyed!
And I had to hire a lawyer to get my insurance money out of them NIGHTMARE! Thats why my last deal was so nice they brought the beds, wired them and timing wires! removed my old beds ect.. Everything was way smoother! |

Thanks to everyone that has responded, the information has been very helpful.
I think, after reading the reply's that it may be worth our while to buy new beds if they will deliver AND install the beds. I'm also finding out that the disty's can be your best friend or worst nightmare! We ordered a Magic Tan today and we are paying a little extra to have it completely installed. The extra money is worth it to me to make sure that everything is installed correctly. The distributor that we are working with for Dr. Kern and Ultra Sun has also guaranteed us delivery and installation. So we are off to the races!! |

New is best of course, but depending on where you are located, installation may not be included in the price. And installation in not a big deal when you have your rooms wired and ready to go, which you should before you get the units. Unloading of the units from the truck is the trucking companies duties, although you may need some extra hands.
Sorry to here about your Magic Tan purchase. |

Regardless of the final performance of the units you buy, in many cases set up and installation will be extra. Mine were bought from a company 3000 miles from here, the thought of them coming here to put them in the room and tighten 12 bolts per bed and plugging it in never even occurred to me. I'm sure they would have, but not for nothing........

The decision has not been made yet to purchase the Dr. Kern or Ultra Sun beds, so I will definitely check into Sunfabrications also.
In regards to the Magic Tan...the salon we are buying has a Mystic booth and from the research I've done and people I've talked to about it, it's no wonder why this salon is losing money on the machine. I read a lot about them both on this board and understand that everyone has their own opinion about each. But for us, it was a no-brainer. |
