Sorry, everyone that tans and yes these people are going out of there way to tan. I'm not sure on the amount of people.

Neon....yes, everyone drives 20 miles to tan... I think it sounds good so far! How many beds does the other salon have? What type? If you pm me the address ,I will pull the demos for you and give you age breakouts.

I went to the tanning salon Friday to check it out, they have 7 beds... 5 base beds, 1 stand up and 1 turbo bed. They are all older TanAmerica beds. I went in their stand up and I could not believe I had to set a little kitchen type timer to keep track of how long I was in it. The timer was supposed to beep so you knew when to get out and turn the unit off, but guess what it never did so I was in there longer than the 11 minute max time. Good thing i'm tan and not white!

I have another question for you guys...We were going to go with TanAmerica beds if we decide to do this, do you think it would be better to go with a different manufacture since the other salon has TanAmerica?

If that's what theyare used to I say go for it, but if you feel different equipment would be something that would entice them, then be different. I also feel that the fact they won't have to drive 20 miles will be the determining factor.

How old are the TanAmerica beds? Do they have a CD player in them?

Makes no difference. They have egg timers. Sheesh.

I'm not sure how old they are but yes they do have a built in stereo. The stand up is the only one that doesn't.I know thay have been in business for 2 years now but don't know if they bought the beds new or used.

How many beds do you think I should start with, and how many levels?

So do you guys think this could work? BTW my husband has a 6 figure job so we would not be relying on money from the salon. One more question...Is this a bad time of year to open a salon?
