Hi, Im in the process of opening my first salon. Can you please tell me how many employees you need in the peak season? And an average of what an 8-10 bed salon can make without any high pressure beds. Thanks for your help !!!

We are open 7 days a week. 7 base beds, 2 VHR"s. We have a total of 6 girls, 3 at each location. During busy season we double up. If the girls think things are getting out of hand, they can pick up the phone and give us a call. We will come in and be the bed runner while they get the experience of working the counter.

always a good idea to have one cleaner and one to work with tanners during busy season at your busiest times. this way your salespeople can work with the tanners more without being rushed to clean the beds.

7a-11p here...during season we have one person from 7-3, one person from 3-11, and one swing person from 11-7. That way we have 2 people at the counter during the busy/peak hours. We also have a room attendant from 11a-11p everyday. So the only time the people behind the desk are doubling up on duties is between 7a and 11a when it's not too busy. (this is all for a 50 bed establishment)

I have only 3 people and myself here. One counter and one bed cleaner (only 6 soon to be 7 units and Mystic) We have no problem. The impt thing is to have specific duties for each individual ie: bed cleaners shouldn't be selling lotions (sure they can talk about them) but leave that to the sales closers. and only during crazy busy times should a sales closer be cleaning beds. Most of the day I am here by myself until 4ish when my bed cleaner and closer comes in. I do have also 2 massage therapists that are also here and soon to be an intern. (How cool is that!) I can make them do anything FREE LABOR! Woo HOO!

8-10 units 139,000 - 175,000? It could be a lot lower as well. I do not know your market rates or how many are in your 1, 3, ande 5 mile.
