We just got in our shipment of Pure Tan bulbs. Replacing every single bulb in our Gold beds with no dropping or stacking or whatever it is called. I didnt even know there was such a thing. Perhaps those salon owners customers dont notice the difference but thats because they were never given the chance in the first place.

Tropicaltanusvi -There is another thread re. lamp replacement timing. Opinions ranged from 400-750 hours for "tube" lamps with most falling in around 400-600. Facial lamps generally 400 hours.
Higher B - more reddening. Many of the lamps for stand-ups have this anyway since they are shorter time frames and often requires more B to get some visible "results" in only 8-12 mins. Sarge, Tanu01, Eds@URI (among others!) all sell lamps and can give you more info on "compatible" lamps and prices etc I'm sure if you PM them. |

For those of you that care about giving your customers a great and EVEN all-over tan, NEVER stack your lamps. My 2 cents... When I first bought my salon i used to think that too. Mainly because of salon owners doing it wrong..and the previous salon owner did it that way too...at about 600-800+ hours he would top drop the bed. I had no idea how to do it correctly until learning online. So I changed top and bottom at the same time. Explain to me how a client loses when Lamp stacking/top dropping is done correctly? It's actually a more work for my wrists(that really messes with my carpal tunnel-sp?)... If every 200-300 hours the clients get fresh lamps on top. The bottom lamps gets tossed..and the top lamps are dropped to the couch. How exactly is that greedy on my part? Or any salon owner that practices this? As I stated when it is not done on time it negates the whole purpose of top dropping and becomes about the ching they save ... I do not think it is right, either ... But to say 'never' top drop is just wrong. Just do it correctly. if your going to do it at all. To each their own...change lamps the way you like. The newbies may want to know a few different ways it can be done. Then they can decide for themselves. JMHO |
