How do you figure what you need to make per session to cover operating costs alone. Do you take total monthly expenses and then divide that by the number of hours open for the month then divide that by the number of possible sessions for the hour???
Don't rip me apart on this one--:)

Figuring price per SESSION to cover operating costs is difficult because sessions/day vary and you will rarely (if EVER) be at "capacity".

Better to figure costs per DAY (or week) and track that way. Understanding of course that you should expect a "day" in April to be MUCH better than a "day" in September! Have to hold onto money from the "good days" to cover your overhead in the "slow days"

Cost to RUN your beds are typically a formula of lamp expense, electrical cost and maintenance, with lamp cost being the largest part of the equation. Still -that depends on how much you pay for lamps and how often you change them!

Since this is an "open" forum (not salon owners only), feel free to PM me and I'll give you approximate costs/bed type if you are interested.

Thanks Sunsally---I was also looking at a cost per session that I would never want to drop below when setting up package prices. I believe the number I came up with from my calculations is on target.
