There is a new certification group on the scene now. You can sign up your salon for multiple online certification or do it by mail... and they will be in Vegas this year.

I don't have the link handy right now, but will get it for you.

Your ceilings are not reflective. The sun shines down and bounces off the snow since there is so much of it. Your tanning units omit light in a controlled atmosphere which the canopy comes down. If any thing is omitted it would be in the room. I don't think your eyesight is due to working in a tanning salon. The light from a tanning unit omits out and up to the ceiling not down from the ceiling. So your ceiling would have to be reflective. In that case you would be able to see people in rooms almost. So I don't think your ceiling is reflective.

I think she may mean because they are white they may have some reflective qualities.

As for the new certification group, isn't that the one thru www.ptaf.org ?

Ceiling isn't reflective but regular light bounces - you can certainly tell when a tanning bed is on because the ceiling glows. I have wall sconces for regular lighting. One light could be one on one side of the salon and I can see quite well on the other side. That's why I was wondering if UV also bounced the same way. We can't see it...however, I wear glasses with UV coating so I'm inclined to think it's just old age hitting me but is eyesight aging related to UV exposure at all?
