Nope. We are in the business to sell booths. The solution is a sideline that does not produce much income. The biggest problem is that the booth is set up for the viscosity of out solution. Other solutions will require the operator to adjust the amout of pressure for the solution they are using. This will adjust the amount of solution being used. With our solution, you are guaranteed over 200 tans per 5 gal. With other solutions, we cannot guarantee you will get more than 160 tan. Therefore, using our solution will produce more $. It is your choice.

SunnyO (if you're still reading...) -
Oftentimes there are "territories" and so if you have one particular bed in mind, there may only be one distributor that services your area. Even so - have him put, in writing, what they are offering you - the entire "package". This will linclude: -Beds and their prices -Shiping and/or install prices (find out if they install or just ship and you're on your own) -Master timer (e.g. Tmax manager pro) -Buck boosters (if needed - usually bigger beds) -Any "extras" - pillows for the beds, posters or marketing materials, acrylic cleaner,... Also - the warranty info - for parts and labor. If this distributor also carries lotions and lamps, ask about pricing there. How about lamps - ask for the cost of the replacement lamps for each of your beds and what "discount",if any, you'll get if you buy in bulk (e.g. re-lamp all beds at once). Will they give you a "free" first lamp change, or some significant discount? Some will to get your business - doesn't hurt to ask. Ask about their payment terms - most want 10-25% down with an order, the rest upon delivery. Don't give it all upfront! Ask about delivery time schedule (this is "the season" - very busy, want to make sure you can get your beds when you need them!). If they are wiling to help with salon layout (most/many can provide a "CAD drawing" that shows the rough measurements needed for the different sized beds, great. Realize that in most areas, you may still be required to have an architect draw up/'Stamp' the plans to meet building codes. Make sure the distributor tells you what the electrical requirements are for each bed - as well as overall HVAC needed. Even if you think you are sure on this particular bed, doesn't hurt to have your 'second choice" bid as well. That way, even though you are comparing apples to oranges in terms of bed types, still get an idea on how all the "other" stuff compares. And maybe it will sway your decision one way or the other, or give you some good ideas for negotiating. In any case - yes, it is the "right" thing to do to tell the "losing" bidder that you are going with another company. They deserve that after the time they have spent with you. And you never know when you might be in the market to buy a different bed from them down the line! - _________________ [ This Message was edited by: sunsally on 2005-01-04 06:28 ] |
