I have been open now for 5 days.. I have had 60 unique clients and about 15 tans a day. Is this good for the season. I have made about $1,000 in revenue. I am not officially haveing a grand opening until February. Wanted to wait until after the holidays. I hand out about 4,000 flyers a week. Between restaurants, diners, hair salons, cheerleading competitions, mandees, joyce leslies, and the major malls. We hit the pavement during the holidays being that everyone else is there christmas shopping.!!! We haev made "friends" with the waitresses in the area and they hand out our card with every bill. We also hooked up with the Golds Gym in our area to make us there "preferred" tanning salon. I hope this will help as well. We are new to the business howver I have managed Ballys gyms previous so I know some of the business but not alot. I was looking for some advice on how we are going about getting peope in. Also would like to kno wif I should be seeing more peopl or this is good for this time of year. Someone please get back to me. Thank you very much..

sounds like you are off to a great start.....Flyers are always good... Direct Mailings...whenever you do your grand opening, maybe put it out on radio, newspaper, flyers, etc..In the end... word of mouth is your best friend. maybe tell your clients to bring a friend, and when they join you will add a free tan for each referral that signs.

Well done so far! Keep it up. Flyers are an awesome tool and cheap. Have some referral cards made up for your existing customers that you have gotten so far and have them had them out with their name on them. When a card comes back with their name on it, they get a free tanning session. Works out really well for me. Good Luck!

i believe that having a Grand Opening before you have a customer base isn't the right thing to do.
now, i would do some advertising to get some clients in and then right before the busy season have one.

Nice job..how about the local paper. There ad dept usually drops by the 20th of the month...and offer lots of specials..until the big boys start advertising for their january white sales.
specials like a 3 x 5 for 89.00 I would be great to do...at least once. Try a special must have coupon deal...be sure have BRAND NEW salon clearly spelled out. Poeple love to check out new salons. It is up to you to keep them!

Good luck and yes Feb is a good month!
