I have two stand up units one high pressure and one 180 watt tube lamps. They don't get as attention as the lay down units. But I do think all salons should have at least one stand up unit. We have several people that will only tan in stand up units. I personally don't like tanning in any stand up. A tan should be relaxing and I don't know how to relax standing. Buying stand up's is the hardest decsion I have. I don't like most of them. GRRRRRR When I was buying one of my stand up's I went tanning in like 20 different one's it was a pain. I'm not a fan of Ergoline so I will not comment on that unit.

"We are now over budget on the equipment but would hate to lose this marketshare."
(Sorry - not sure how to do the copy thing yet where it shows what you wrote before and inserts it into my post.) To me - this answers your question. If you are already overbudget, consider waiting and seeing what YOUR market is like! Does anyone come in asking for it? Does anyone leave when you say you don't have one? If so, first ask why they like only a standup - have they ever tried lay down?, are they claustrophobic? are they especially tall/heavy (if so to any of these, will any of your other upgrade beds work just as well?) We have one - bought it used (Sundash - will run forever!). Tans well, but VERY little use. Even for my people that walk in saying they want a stand-up, half of them switch over (or go back and forth) when they try my laydown at the same "level". I have 15 minute beds and a 12 minute stand-up, so not that much difference in number of tanners you could see in an hour so the lamp difference is not valid here (besides, stand-up bulbs don't last as long and cost more!) Make sure the room and electric is big enough to accommodate EITHER a stand-up or a level 2/3 (usually equiv. to a stand-up), then open up, get some money in the door, and see what YOUR business tells you is the next bed to purchase! Also - if you buy, consider the Tan America Sun Up II as an option. The facials give the tanner something to play with/focus on (to cut boredom!) and is an extra reason for people to stand-up rather than lay down! If I hadn't gotten a good price on used Radius, would have gone for this one. |

Are you charging that price despite how long the session is? |
