And you know MY business is doing great and my clients love the way I run my business, keeps their tanning cost down. I dont have to raise prices every year and my prices can stay the same all year round dont have to go up and down with the prices or my hours. The same year round, its called consistency and folks like that. The prices dont go up in season and down out of season, dont have to run alot of "specials", dont have to change my hours. LOW THEFT! It is called the K I S S system in the business world.

Wow 3 pages! This is some good stuff. Now to address dorsey and to why this person really is nothing more than a volume spammer, no better than that pop up ad that won't go away, or the spyware that took over your pc and is making everything go VERY SLOWLY (which seems to be the case right now for me).

Now what have we learned so far. Dorsey is a distributor who sells to salons/businesses NOT directly to the public. Now when we talk about selling and dorsey chimes in with a gem we are really talking about 2 different things. Selling retail and selling wholesale are NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE SAME THING. We as retailers have to know WHAT THE **** WE ARE SELLING so we can SELL it. Wholesalers just need to know what kind of a deal they can offer you and can play stupid when it comes down to any real knowledge of the products they are selling.

If you had taken some MARKETING classes you'd realize this and cut the crap. You'd also realize your customers are NOT guests they are ALL OF US. If they see a master tantalker arguing with someone that is a spammer who they gunna trust? You don't see me ripping Gip Marketing, URI, SUR. I'm not friends with these people. They actually have something to add that is OF VALUE. Imagine if Grip (is it Gary? sorry kinda nuts right now) came on here and started PRETCHING about HOW much of an *** we are for not using their services. And then started talking about the importance of the pop up ad. Toss that fool in 2 seconds. Doesn't happen. INSTEAD they come in here, throw down what they feel is an effective approach to whatever the situation is and THAT'S IT. If you think the guy is nuts, you move on. If not, then you inquire further. NOT DORSEY. You are such a sceptic is the response I get. HA HA HA. But you don't care what anyone thinks cause you are EZ livin (not to drag that fool in but...) and plan on taking it easy. In this day and age to accompish this you either have to be really smart, really lucky, or a lazy conman.
So far dorsey hasn't shown to be either of the first 2.

This site is made up MOSTLY of young, ametuer, new business people looking to do what it takes with the little that we have to work with. And by that I mean money. I'm sure we can agree on this. So what you don't have in money you have to make up in harder work or cutting corners.

Hopefully cutting corners is not the route we are going down.

Hard work now so they'll be less work later...hopefully. But when is later? 40? 50?

Semi retired at 41? I have NO INTENTIONS of retireing at 41. It's so unrealistic to anyone with any clue in reality. WELL, some people feel that it is reality and will do WHATEVER IT TAKES to just CHILL for the next 50YEARS. You CLAIM to have a communications degree (different thread), which is nice but my degree is BUSINESS, THE CORRECT AND ETHICAL WAY. Not HOW TO RETIRE AT 41 BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.
My classes consisted of STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT, HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, BUSINESS ETHICS, to name a few. Oh yeah I was the ASSISTANT TO THE DEAN OF THE COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT for 3 years and worked with ALL the professors, students, TA's, everyone. You needed to know what professors SUCKED. I knew. Wrote resumes and tutored 4.0 students, being the go to guy for the whole college of management...it's called the total experience. Live, eat, breathe your purpose for as long as it takes. 90hrs for nothing? I worked 45hrs while going to school full time. This is NOTHING. Sleep is a waste of time. To say life experience is worthless is just sad and shows your professionalism.

You take cheap shots at my spelling and I AGREE. I am a RETARD when it comes to spelling. A weak point I agree. When you ae brought up on 3 stooges and Mel Brooks you tend to inherit a certain vernacular that may not be scholar material.
OR is it the fact that I'm at WORK and I'm WORKING and TYPING and DESIGNING THE AD FOR THE PAPER and trying to blow breeze off another week due to low traffic. Maybe that's the reason I don't double check my spelink.

My "background" is NOT UNIQUE, and I'm NOT looking for a "good for you" or anything. It's reality for today's brand new business owners (GUESTS). Anyone that reads these boards can pick out someone just looking for "the bare minimum" and think that'll be good enough. Bare minimum WILL NOT get you through one of the WORST economy downturns in history. It's what needs to be done and it's the mind set you need to be in if you plan on operating a LEGITIMATE business.
How many people write up a business plan and/or budget to see if they can even AFFORD to run a salon? I can bet not very many. I will bet that not many even know what a business plan is. I got people all day long asking me what I do with all the money I save from not hiring anyone...in the same F'n breath they are looking for a "super special".

The only thing that stinks is your lazy pathetic approach to SCREWING the UNKNOWING. SPAM can be considered a good marketing approach if all you are looking at is profit potential and don't take into consideration the amount of damage you are creating in the process.
I chose that "nightmare" breeze as my "in house" lotion AFTER trying EVERYTHING else that's out there. If I can make 300% mark-up on breeze and sell it all day long and only make 80-100% markup on the other stuff, I'm an idiot?
Actually, I'm a "masshole" and deal with them all day long. We are the most difficult, beaten down, over worked people in the country. (massholes represent!) I've survived longer at my place than the 2 previous owners (sorry tanu can't take credit for that logo...just got lucky) and they were "professionals". You have to be TOP OF YOUR GAME to survive, or you'll be SPIT OUT in a big hurry.

Ovbiously we SHOULD let this storm die down and let the PEOPLE decide your fate by not supporting your creepy aproach at doing business. There is PLENTY of CUT AND PASTE "I told you so" ready to go when the complaints start rolling in.

I'm sure tommel financial was considered legit at one time too.

Enfant is just promoting Vend A Tan. **** tanu01 she's driven so much business my way I outta be paying her. You can see the old gal coming from a mile away. Enfant is like a walking target, sticks her shoe in her mouth everytime she post. She's like the old lady in the shoe, she's claims she's got so many customers she doesn't know what to do" She's not even smart enough to realize just how much she actually promotes me and my business. This is a marketing dream. Just think how many clicks Vend A Tan is getting from all this attention. Like I said I go after her just because she is so vulnerable and naive.
