I'm opening in one month and the ADA (Texas) told me I had to make every room accessible. It really cut down on the number of rooms I could have. I was told that every tanning salon in Texas, built or remodeled since 1972, had to do the same. I have visited several salons in my area and not one had every room compliant. I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and enjoy bigger rooms with less beds!

i am currently in the process of doing a buildout here in south florida. dont listen to that "grandfathered in" stuff your landlord tries to tell you. the city is making me demolish the existing bathrooms and rooms and making me turn "EVERYTHING" into handicap accessible.

We even had to install bars in the bathrooms (which had to be handicapped accessible) although, I have taken business away from other salons because we are handicapped accessible...but...we have a co-ed rooms, so those in wheelchairs can tan with their partner, who puts the top down and puts them in the bed. People in wheelchairs...and yes, had a blind man who went in stand up weekly....they like to feel good too!!!!! Amazes me though how the blind dont no there legs arent getting tanned....lol
