Whoa... what are you going to do when all the students leave for summer? Every salon that ever opened near the campus in our town.... DIED! I've never seen one survive more than a couple years. Remember, regular clients (non-student) avoid campuses like the plague. No parking, heavy congestion, and inconvenient. The last salon that bit-it, offered it to me for $12K! Sounds like an awesome deal, but when I looked at their TRAFFIC, amoung other things, there were LOTS of days over the summer when they never saw a single sole. This is a hard thing to deal with becuase you never know how bad it's going to get. Be careful, and research everything. Diligence is the key. Don't let ego or anything else get in the way of making an fully informed decision, and if you don't know what to look for - hire someone to help you. It will be the best money you ever spent.

You know you can come on here giving us the figures but based upon that I honestly dont think we could give you an approriate answer. We have no idea what the place looks like, what condition the beds are in, where the location is, what the local demographics are other than just college students. My question is why is the owner is getting out of the business. When the students are gone is there enough people in this town to help bring income in? I would also speak with some of their employees, candidly that is asking them questions about their tanning seasons, etc. I think numbers look great however there is more to a business than just numbers. Maybe even before purchasing it work in the salon for a week and get the feel of what the deal is. If that is not feasible, drive by at different times, get a feel for it on your terms rather than believing what the owner is saying.
