So what is it are you asking? Did you make the right decision??
Is this an existing salon you are buying, or a new "upstart"? If existing, did you request to look at ALL financials of the biz; PL statements/Personal Income statements last 2years/# client base/# tanners tanned last 30-180days/active member list/liens on bussiness/rent-lease stipulations..did you have a lawyer/CPA review ALL..if so, and chks ok, then you have no problem..if new business, you will strugle to pull in new business with the competition in place, until tme establihes you. |

You may not be aware of this but ..most franchise agreements prevent you from posting on any other tanning forums sites but their's. Why?? I have no idea. BUT If I were you I would check your contract before posting further. I would hate for you to get into trouble.

Unless your pockets are VERY DEEP, deep enough not only to meet the high cost of opening thru a franchise, but deep enough to carry you through periods of slow business. No matter how few people walk thru your door, your FRANCHISOR stll expects/demands those high monthly fees..on top of all your other monthly debt. If they decide, company wide, that all stores will offer a special low ball discount, you must obey and follow suit, even if it puts you in the negative column for months to come. Why would you prostitute yourself to a Franchise? You will become a slave, a puppet on the strings of some corporate honcho. Always having to buy what they want, making more money off you, because they buy bulk, reap the monetary rewards, while all franchisees succumb to their greed. If you decide to sell certain retail; candles, scented saops, etc., you never will have the true freedom to explore or expand your retail. Everything becomes "cookie cutter"..like McDonalds. Is that what you REALLY want?? This is not the true pioneer spirit of being an entreprenuer. You are just part of the corporate genre.
