How to sell tanning products in your salon!

1) Pick a line and focus on selling just that line!

* Every employee and owner is on the same mission to sell that line!

Result: Tanners are bombarded with the same message about the same products.

2) Train your staff!

* The more your staff is educated the more they have the ability to sell customers on the actual benefits of using tanning products not just hype.

Result: Tanners become educated about indoor tanning products and see the value in using them and they see results from that use.

The only problem I see with that is your customers who are really in to tanning are highly likely not talking to just your staff about tanning. They are getting on the internet, going to other salons and listening to their friends and what they are using. If a friend tells me about something that they are having good luck with and think it might be right for me I am going to seek it out. And if your salon is not selling it you better beleive people will go elsewhere to find it. I think a variety of products is a good idea. A huge variety however can be confusing to customers!

Clients are far to into convenience.. Greg No offense but My clients will not wait even 2 days for lotion that need now.

So it goes without saying that carrying 'one' line of goo... whether it is YOURS, Max's or John's( I should say Franks) It limits sales. PP is right they will go elsewhere. And possibly even buy a package there too.

JMHO.

Srry Greg I agree with MJ on this one But I would not carry to many lines... I use 3 lines and not every product from each line... Just there most popular ones JMHO

I do special orders all the time. I have at least 2 special orders a month, but now that I have my own line, I hope this changes.

I believe what Vilin..is saying(psssst I love the name )
People mostly decide to make purchases based on visual stimulation.
That is more true then not. Just like in food service presentation is important.
But it is also only part of the equation.
There must be quality product in attractive(not tacky, cheep looking or pornographic)packaging, and a informed helpful sales person explaining the benefits of using said lotion.
And why it fits their skin type and tanning goals.
JMHO
